SEWA is considered one of the most important associations in India. It gathers more than 300.500 members and a great deal of cooperatives where more than 15.000 artisans work, mainly women. It enables them to increase their productivity and income, mainly by avoiding intermediaries. SEWA also provides its members with health services, microcredits, insurance, nurseries, education programmes, etc. This global approach helps these handicraft women to get out of poverty.
In 2004, INNOVARTE began its collaboration with SEWA, working on marketing and commercialization, and, also, on adapting product design to Spanish and European markets.
